Privacy Policy for SayYoureIn
Effective Date: March 1, 2026
Welcome to SayYoureIn ("we," "our," or "us"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy
Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you visit our website
(sayyourein.com) and use our free event invitation and RSVP platform (the "Service").
1. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly to us when you use the Service:
- Account Information: When you register, either via email or third-party authentication
(like Google), we collect your name, email address, and profile information.
- Event Information: When you create an event, we collect the event title, description,
date, time, physical location, and any images or content you upload.
- Guest & RSVP Data: We collect RSVP statuses, guest names, contact information, and any
comments or answers to host questions provided during the RSVP process.
- Financial Handles: If a host uses the "Chip In" feature, we may collect third-party
payment handles (e.g., a Venmo username). Note: SayYoureIn does not process payments
directly and does not collect or store credit card numbers or bank account details.
- Automatically Collected Data: We automatically collect standard usage data, including
your IP address, browser type, operating system, and interaction with the platform (such as which pages
you visit) to help us ensure the platform functions correctly.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to operate and improve our free Service. Specifically, we use it to:
- Create and manage your account.
- Host and display your event pages to your invited guests.
- Process RSVPs and manage event capacities (e.g., waiting lists and "plus ones").
- Send transactional emails, such as RSVP confirmations, event updates, and host broadcasts.
- Improve the user experience and analyze how the platform is used.
- Protect against unauthorized access, fraud, or illegal activity.
3. How We Share Your Information
We do not sell or rent your personal information to third parties. We only share your information in the
following situations:
- With Event Guests and Hosts: If you RSVP to an event, your name, RSVP status, and any
comments may be visible to the host and, depending on the host's settings, to other invited guests.
- Public Events: If a host marks an event as "Public," the event details and location
will be accessible to anyone with the link.
- Service Providers: We share data with trusted third-party vendors who perform services
on our behalf, such as hosting our servers, managing our databases, and sending transactional emails.
- Legal Obligations: We may disclose your information if required to do so by law or in
response to valid requests by public authorities.
4. Third-Party Logins and Links
Our platform allows you to sign in using third-party services like Google. When you use these services, they
may share certain profile information with us according to their own privacy policies. Additionally, event
pages may contain links to third-party websites (like Google Maps for locations or Venmo for payments). We
are not responsible for the privacy practices of these external sites.
5. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
We use cookies and similar tracking technologies to keep you logged in, remember your preferences, and
analyze site traffic. You can instruct your browser to refuse all cookies or to indicate when a cookie is
being sent, though some features of the Service may not function properly without them.
6. Data Retention and Account Deletion
We retain your personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purposes set out in this Privacy
Policy. You have the right to request the deletion of your account and associated event data at any time by
contacting us.
7. Children's Privacy
SayYoureIn is a general audience platform and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect
personal information from anyone under the age of 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal
data from a child under 13 without verifiable parental consent, we will take steps to remove that
information from our servers.
8. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update our Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new
Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Effective Date" at the top. We encourage you to review this
Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
